To me, <em>Polkadot Stingray<\/em> is kawaii funk\/rock, noisy but catchy, rowdy but elegant. They are young but technically very proficient, great rhythm section, great guitar playing (just like my \u4e00\u756a\u597d\u304d\u306a\u30d0\u30f3\u30c9, \u30b2\u30b9\u306e\u6975\u307f\u4e59\u5973 [<em>Gesu No Kiwami Otome<\/em>]).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Their second album is called <em>\u6709\u9802\u5929<\/em> (uchoten), &#8220;ecstasy&#8221;, and it&#8217;s a very\u00a0urban affair. Songs about love given\/taken\/broken\/fought over, like in funky highlight\u00a0<em>\u30d1\u30f3\u30c9\u30e9\u30dc\u30c3\u30af\u30b9<\/em> (<em>Pandora\u2019s Box<\/em>), or modern city life, like the aptly titled \u5316\u3051\u3082\u306e\u3060\u3089\u3051\u306e\u8857 (&#8220;<em>a city full of monsters<\/em>&#8220;) (stylised as &#8220;<em>City Life<\/em>&#8221; for the western markets). The songwriting is good (the previous \u5168\u77e5\u5168\u80fd had much greater consistency but sophomores are always harder) and the playing has&#8230; lots of traction.
